New zine of short stories [28 Oct 2005|10:29am]
misterwillson
Hello!
I'm new to LJ. Hope it's okay to briefly let you know about the zine of short stories I've just put out. The stories have mostly appeared in small mags in the UK and US. The zine, You Are Here, is A5 /half size, 60 pages; £1.35 (uk) or $3(us) inc post, from www.eddiewillson.cjb.net. Also available from Cause and Effect distro www.causeandeffectdistro.com, and sometime soon from all that glitters distro www.allthatglittersdistro.co.uk . Cross posted a bit. Cheers.

the phone book [20 Nov 2003|10:09pm]

although it's not a publication as such, it contains small writing pieces. and i think it's good. its kind of like a tiny book for soft copy, considering the size of the platform it's designed for, if you get my drift:

silver painted cradles [14 Sep 2003|08:29pm]

O plunge your hands in water,
Plunge them in up to the wrist:
    Stare, stare in the basin
    And wonder what you’ve missed.

O stand, stand at the window
As the tears scald and start:
You shall love your crooked neighbours
    With your crooked heart.

[because i feel like inkburn in the default font.]

    smaller books
    will often want
    longer looks
    due to the font
    being smaller, also.

'little books' makes me think of the bront sisters.
or 'little women'. not that i've ever read it.

'tiny books' makes me think of a francesca lia block story
in rose and the beast, called 'tiny'. i think i liked it because
    i have a thing for bite-sized heroines,
    and boy-poets.

'small books' makes me think of those gideon bibles.
the best thing about bibles, i think,
is the paper. like onion skins, like
    your own skin, baby fingernails,
tears, windows you can hear 'goodbye' though,
    kiss-dew on cheeks, okay,
    i'm getting mushy now.

tiny books are often very small
sometimes they are made by a tiny mind
    or on a miniscule budget
    or with little help
    or skill

sometimes they are just so big and wonderful that they only give you a little piece, a tiny book from the great wonderful never ending story of someones mind
